SNAP offers nutrition assistance to thousands of eligible, low-income individuals and families and provides economic benefits to communities. The Federal Food and Nutrition Service, part of USDA, works with State agencies, nutrition educators, and neighborhood and faith-based organizations to ensure that those eligible for nutrition assistance can access benefits.
**In January of 2023, New Hampshire expanded income eligibility to 200% of the Federal Poverty Guidelines (FPG). Prior to that expansion, eligibility was more complex: 130% of FPG for able-bodied persons ages 18-59, 165% FPG for adults 60+ and disabled, and, via expanded eligibility, 185% FPG for children under 18 and related adults living with them.
